Two students from the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA elevated the country's name for achieving outstanding result at the Al-Quran Recital and Memorisation For ASEAN Higher Education Institution 2025/2026. It was held at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Terengganu, Malaysia.
Awang Mohammad Hamiz Mirza bin Haji Sudirman was crowned champion of the Tilawah Al-Quran Category, while Awang Mohammad Aqinul Aiman bin Abu Bakar placed fourth in the 30 Juzuk Al-Quran Memorisation. The achievement reflects UNISSA's commitment to strengthening the culture of reading and memorising Al Quran among students, in line with the desire to produce a generation of excellent, high-quality huffaz and qari who are capable of representing the country at the regional and international levels.
