Over 40 types of traditional food were showcased during the Ukong Mamagon Food Festival at Kampung Ukong Sports Court, Tutong District, 28th September morning. The festival was a platform to instill a love for cultural heritage as well as to boost the local economy.
The festival was launched by Dayang Siti Norashikin binti Mohd Salleh, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy, Corporate and Planning at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya'akub, Member of the Legislative Council. The Ukong Mamagon Food Festival reintroduced the wealth of traditional food from various ethnic groups, and also provide opportunity for the young generation to recognise, appreciate and understand the origins of traditional foods.
