Unity, empathy in green

The Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Counselling Division, as the Working Committee for the Ministry’s World Mental Health Day 2026 celebration, held the ‘Wear It Green Day’ activity in conjunction with the World Mental Health Day 2026 for the MoE.

Through this activity, all MoE personnel and members of the school community were encouraged to take part by wearing green attire for officers, staff and educators, and green accessories for students. The initiative symbolises the unity, support and commitment of the MoE community in raising awareness of the importance of mental health.

This year’s theme, ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’, emphasises the importance of listening to the stories and lived experiences of individuals facing mental health challenges, while encouraging society to be more empathetic, non-judgmental, and to engage directly with those affected, rather than simply speaking about them.

The involvement of individuals with such lived experiences can also help ensure that the support provided is more person-centred, recovery-oriented, inclusive and humane.
