The voting and selection of candidates for the Pengkalan Mau, Bakiau and Batang Mitus village head post was held recently at Batang Mitus Primary School Hall in Kiudang, Tutong District, using ballot papers.
Voting through the e-Undi PMKK mobile application began on August 21.
The sole eligible candidate for the post was Muhammad Izzat bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Aziyan, who was 34 at the time of nomination.
A total of 226 residents cast their votes out of 259 registered and eligible voters. Of the votes cast, 61 were submitted through the e-Undi PMKK mobile application, while 165 were cast using ballot papers.
The results recorded 175 votes in favour, 48 against and three damaged ballots.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan; Acting Tutong District Officer and Chairperson of the event Haji Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri; officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs; penghulu of Mukim Kiudang; village heads and acting village heads under Mukim Kiudang; and residents were present.
The voting and selection results will be submitted to the Penghulu and Village Heads Appointments, Discipline and Disciplinary Board of the Ministry of Home Affairs for further processing. The event earlier began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Acting Bilal of Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel Mosque, Kiudang, Mohd Ahwazul Aqil bin Abd Rahman. – Lyna Mohamad
