His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, visited the British Forces Brunei (BFB) in Belait District, 27th September morning. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness 920 Major (Udara) Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival at the Officers' Mess BFB Garrison, His Majesty was greeted by representatives from both the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty was then presented with a Maala garland before being presented with a briefing on the Second Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR) BFB activities.
His Majesty also inspected the Guard of Honour, led by Major Ed Hicks, Officer Commanding 'C' Company, 2 RGR. Several cultural performances enlivened His Majesty's visit. His Majesty had the opportunity to meet and greet with BFB personnel families. His Majesty also attended a Luncheon.
His Majesty's visit reaffirms the long-standing close relations between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam, as well as the bilateral cooperation in regional security.
