With the hope of bringing joy and learning opportunities to youths with autism, Standard Chartered Bank Brunei recently organised a volunteering initiative with SMARTER Brunei.
15 dedicated staff volunteers from the bank joined about 50 youths with varying degrees of dependencies for a half-day cooking activity held at SMARTER's B.A.C.A Centre in Kampung Sungai Hanching. The event was also aimed to foster a sense of community, enhance social skills, and provide a fun, hands-on learning experience for all participants. During the activity, volunteers, teachers at SMARTER and youths worked together to prepare two recipes. The activity reflects Standard Chartered's broader commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, encouraging staff to volunteer in initiatives that contribute to the local community and environment.
