Several areas in the Brunei-Muara District are experiencing water supply disruptions, according to the Public Works Department (PWD).
The department said it has received complaints regarding disruptions in several locations and is carrying out investigations to determine the cause. Appropriate measures have also been taken to assist some of the affected areas.
Areas affected under the Berakas tank catchment include Berakas Camp, STKRJ Lambak Kiri, Kampong Lambak Kiri, parts of Jalan Pasir Berakas, Jalan Utama Berakas, Jalan Terunjing Baru and the Lambak Kanan Industrial Area, as well as surrounding areas.
Under the Meragang tank catchment, affected locations include Jalan Wasai Limuru and Jalan Kemangsi, Jalan Wasai Limuru Utara, Jalan Kemangsi Selatan, Jalan Kemangsi Timur, the Meragang National Housing Scheme, Kampong Meragang and parts of Jalan Kapok Kanan and Jalan Kapok Kiri in Kampong Kapok.
The Royal Brunei Air Force Base, His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Office and surrounding areas under the Sultan Flight tank catchment are also affected.
Other affected locations include the Salambigar Industrial Area, Jalan Utama Tanah Jambu and Youth Development Centre under the Salambigar Industrial tank catchment.
The Tanah Jambu A tank catchment covers Jalan Karamunting, Jalan Karamunting Barat, Jalan Sadaman, Jalan Sadaman Barat and Jalan Kulimpapa, while the Tanah Jambu B tank catchment includes Jalan Binglu Barat, Tengah, Selatan and Utara, as well as Jalan Wasai Limuru at Simpang 415 and 479.
PWD has also placed blue water tanks at several locations to assist the public. For the Berakas catchment, a tank is available at Masjid Kampong Lambak along Jalan Pasir Berakas.
For the Meragang catchment, blue tanks are available at Masjid Az-Zakireen Meragang and Taman Riadah PN Kampong Meragang.
Members of the public can contact Talian Darussalam 123 to lodge complaints regarding water supply or request water tanker services. PWD said further updates will be issued once more information becomes available.
