The Public Works Department (JKR) is carrying out restoration works on the raw water pumping system at the Mengkubau Water Treatment Plant following reports of low water pressure in several areas around the Mengkubau National Housing Scheme.
According to a statement issued by JKR on Monday, the works are being undertaken to optimise the water production system.
Efforts are also underway to raise water levels in storage tanks to sufficient levels to stabilise water distribution to affected areas.
The department said water supply is expected to be restored gradually as water production increases and storage tank levels improve.
Residents in affected areas were urged to continue using water prudently and sparingly while restoration works are ongoing.
JKR also expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of residents affected by the water supply disruption.
