The Public Works Department (JKR) has announced scheduled water tank cleaning works in several areas of the Belait District from September 7 to 12, with residents advised to prepare for possible low water pressure or temporary supply disruptions.
The works will begin at 8am each day and continue until completion.
On Monday, September 7, cleaning will be carried out at the Lumut National Housing ‘A1’ water tank, affecting the Lumut II National Housing area and its surroundings.
The Agis-Agis ‘B’ water tank will be cleaned on Tuesday, September 8. Areas expected to be affected include Kampong Sungai Liang, Kampong Agis-Agis, Kampong Sungai Lalit, Kampong Sungai Kang, Kampong Sungai Kuru, Kampong Lumut Tersusun and Kampong Sungai Bakong, as well as surrounding areas.
Works will continue on Wednesday, September 9, at the Keluyoh ‘A’ water tank, affecting Kampong Keluyoh and nearby areas.
The Andulau ‘1’ water tank is scheduled for cleaning on Thursday, September 10, with Mukim Labi, Mukim Bukit Sawat, Mukim Sukang and Mukim Melilas and surrounding areas expected to be affected.
The final scheduled works will take place on Saturday, September 12, at the Lumut National Housing ‘A2’ water tank, affecting Lumut National Housing II and its surroundings.
JKR advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water before the scheduled works begin.
Water supply is expected to return gradually after the cleaning is completed, although recovery times may vary depending on the area.
