Where community meets compassion

The Malayali Association Brunei (MA) held the Blood Donation Programme 2026 at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Belait District, with nearly 80 participants supporting the community initiative.

The campaign was led by the Social and Welfare Committee of MA to encourage voluntary blood donation and promote awareness of the importance of maintaining an adequate blood supply for patients.

Held from 8am to noon, the programme received encouraging participation from members of the community, reflecting a strong spirit of compassion, social responsibility and community service.

The successful campaign forms part of MA’s continued commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.

The association hoped the initiative will encourage more eligible individuals to become regular blood donors and contribute to maintaining a healthy blood supply in the country.

“Every donation makes a difference, and every donor can help save a life. The encouraging response from the community is a reflection of the spirit of compassion and willingness to serve others. We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the success of this campaign,” said MA.

The association said it remains committed to organising meaningful initiatives that contribute positively to the community and wider society in Brunei.

The association conveyed its gratitude to the medical team and staff of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, the volunteers and the organising team.

Complimentary gifts and certificates were presented to the donors.
