The three-day Strategic Plan Workshop of the Negara Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) 2026–2033 concluded recently, with discussions focused on shaping the organisation’s strategic direction for the coming years.
Held at the PPNBD Headquarters, the workshop brought together PPNBD leaders and Scout leaders to assess the organisation’s current position and discuss its future direction.
The closing ceremony was officiated by PPNBD President ACP (Rtd) Haji Murad bin Haji Abd Hadi, with members of the National Scout Council, commissioners and workshop participants also in attendance. During the workshop summary session, PPNBD Chief Commissioner and Workshop Director Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin presented an overview of the discussions and outcomes achieved over the three-day workshop.
Among the matters highlighted were the PPNBD vision and strategic priorities discussed during the workshop, which will be proposed to the National Scout Council for further consideration.
The workshop provided participants the opportunity to reassess PPNBD’s achievements and current position, identify strategic issues and challenges, and discuss priorities requiring attention to ensure the Scout Movement continues to grow, remain relevant and be prepared for future changes.
Discussions also covered organisational direction, leadership development, youth engagement, strengthening strategic partnerships and networks, digital transformation, as well as PPNBD communications and branding.
The outcomes of the discussions will form part of the basis for preparing the Draft PPNBD Strategic Plan 2026–2033, which will subsequently be submitted to the National Scout Council for consideration and approval.
The closing ceremony also featured a speech by participant representative Awangku Shariffuddin @ Awangku Muhd Shahfwan bin Pengiran Damit from Scout Troop 1102, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali. His speech highlighted his experiences and views throughout the workshop, as well as his appreciation for the opportunity for participants to contribute their views and ideas to the PPNBD strategic planning process.
A video presentation documenting the journey, discussions and moments throughout the PPNBD Strategic Plan Workshop 2026–2033 was also shown during the ceremony.
As a token of appreciation for their participation and commitment throughout the workshop, certificates were presented to the participants.
