Workshop highlights importance of supplication » Borneo Bulletin Online
Mosques play an important role beyond serving as places of worship, acting as centres for religious knowledge and strengthening the spiritual development of the Muslim community.
In supporting this role, the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Takmir Committee recently launched the book “Ya Allah Terimalah Amalku”, alongside a workshop titled ‘Unveiling the Secrets and Virtues of Prayer in Life’ at the mosque.
Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri officiated the event as the guest of honour.
The workshop was conducted by Mosque Affairs Officer at the Mosque Affairs Department (JHEM) Haji Md Shari bin Haji Sulaiman.
The programme aimed to deepen the Muslim community’s understanding of the importance of doa (supplication) in daily life and provide participants with greater knowledge of its virtues and proper etiquette.
It also sought to encourage Muslims to make doa a consistent part of their daily lives as a means of drawing closer to Allah the Almighty.
Among the programme’s objectives were to introduce “Ya Allah Terimalah Amalku” to the public, enhance understanding of the concept and significance of doa, encourage its regular practice and further strengthen mosques as centres for religious learning and spiritual development.
The workshop was attended by mosque officers and staff, members of mosque Takmir committees and Muslimah representatives from mosques nationwide.
The programme was also hoped to enhance participants’ understanding, appreciation and practice of doa while strengthening faith and religious observance within the community. – Lyna Mohamad
