Efforts to create sustainable, inclusive and livable town and residential settlements require strong and integrated cross-agency collaboration not only between government agencies but also with the private and public sectors. Therefore, each party plays an important role in ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental sustainability and social well-being. Speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the National Level World Town Planning Day Celebration 2025, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda Bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development explained that the role of town planning is not only focused on land use management or physical development, but also as a collaborative platform that requires the involvement of all parties.
The Minister added through effective collaboration, it is hoped that a more comprehensive, integrated, inclusive and innovative town planning approach will be produced, in line with the goals of the Wawasan Negara to achieve sustainable economic growth and a high quality of life.
In conjunction with this year's celebration, eight Planning Guidelines and Standards books as well as an online Public Planning Complaints System were launched. The celebration includes an exhibition that will be held for five days starting 11th November at the Dewan Betabur and 1st Floor Foyer, Ministry of Development. Several briefing and dialogue sessions targeting participants comprising professionals in the construction industry; school students and the public are also included in the event.
