The Department of Co-Curriculum Education, through the Arts and Creativity Division, held the Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa 2024-2025 Award Presentation Ceremony yesterday to recognise students who achieved a top 50 ranking in the competition at the national level.
Deputy Chief of Mission and Counsellor of the Japanese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Miura Keiko, the guest of honour, officiated the award presentation.
A total of 267 students – 70 male and 197 female – from 37 government and private primary schools under the Ministry of Education, as well as Arabic schools under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, participated in the national-level competition.
Out of the total, 50 students were selected to receive recognition in the form of prizes and certificates for the 2024-2025 session, with eight of the top entries receiving recognition according to their category and 42 entries as consolation prize recipients. At the award presentation ceremony, Awangku Aisy Athallah bin Pengiran Md Irwana Termizan received the Grand Prix Award, while Muhammad Aaqib Irfan bin Muhammad Aryan Iqram went home with the Mitsubishi Public Affairs Committee Award. Raihana binti Haji Mohd Bashir was recipient of the Asian Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations Award and Bethany Ng Shi Ning received the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan Award.
Meanwhile, the four recipients of the Excellent Award were Chin Si Ying, Dayang Khairun Nisa binti Rusli, Nurdamia Batrisya binti Yusrin and Fisoffil ‘Ulya binti Mohammad Farizal. The Grand Prix winner also received the award and certificate at an international-level ceremony in Japan in August 2025.
The Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa is held biennially and is open to children aged between six and twelve at the time of the competition. The competition consists of two stages of selection, namely the national selection and international selection.
