His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience His Excellency Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Affairs and Minister for Defence, Republic of Singapore. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 23rd August afternoon.
Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have a close and longstanding defence relationship since 1976, which has further strengthened through formal agreements, Defence Policy Dialogue, exchanges in high-level visits, military exercises, courses and various aspects of cooperation. Both countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of defence relations in 2026.
His Majesty received in audience His Excellency Chan Chun Sing. Accompanying His Excellency were His Excellency Laurence Bay Siow Hon, Singapore High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Major General Cai Dexian, Chief of Singapore Army and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore.
