195 Imam or prayer leaders are appointed to lead the Sunat Tarawih Prayers at 77 mosques nationwide. They comprised mosque officers and teaching staff, students and former students of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Institute. The Department of Mosque Affairs in collaboration with the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Institute held the Presentation of Letters of Appointment as Imam for Sunat Tarawih Prayers. It was held at the institute, 14th February morning.
The letters of appointment were handed over by Awang Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs, and Pengiran Doctor Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Principal of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Institute. Apart from providing students and former students with the opportunity to revise and strengthen their Al-Qur'an memorisation, the placement also allows them to gain experience and strengthen their confidence as Imams.
