No bail in alleged fatal 'reverse-ram' of elderly man

A woman will remain behind bars after allegedly killing a man in a fit of road rage.
Melinda Jane Avison, 41, appeared before a bail court on Thursday via video link charged with manslaughter over the August 31 altercation in Bega, NSW.
Avison is accused of reversing into 73-year-old Trevor Gordon Fleet with her silver Holden SUV at an intersection near the Princes Highway.
Police alleged the pair had an argument shortly before the alleged ramming.
Mr Fleet was treated at the scene before paramedics took him to Bega's South East Regional Hospital.
He was admitted to hospital in a serious condition but died a day later.

Detective Inspector Justin Marks had previously launched an appeal for public assistance.
He said police believed a woman pulled over to the side of the road and began arguing with Mr Fleet.
The detective alleged the woman returned to her vehicle, reversed into Mr Fleet and drove away.
During the month-long search, he said he hoped any alleged offender had "a conscience," and would turn themselves in.
Detectives executed two search warrants across the Sapphire Coast on Wednesday, seizing the Holden SUV and other items.
Avison was arrested and taken to Bega Police Station where she was charged with manslaughter.

Her solicitor on Thursday did not make an application for bail, which was formally refused.
Magistrate Te'res Sia endorsed a warrant for Avison's medications, as the court was told she lived with several mental health issues.
The matter will be next heard at Bega Local Court on December 15.
Det Insp Marks also previously told reporters Mr Fleet was a husband, loving family man, and friend to many.
"What we're looking at is an elderly male who was well respected in the community that has died unnecessarily and his death … is devastating to his family and loved ones," he said.
He said Mr Fleet's long-term partner was in his vehicle when he was hit.
"She's still struggling with that along with the rest of her family," he said.
