Harbouring negative assumption is a poison that destroys the heart, demolish brotherhood, and shatters harmony in community life. Thus, Islam teaches us to always think positively, because it creates peace and fosters a sense of love. This was among the contents of the Friday Sermon titled Refrain from Negative Assumptions. Also shared are several steps to refrain from negative assumptions.
Among the steps to refrain from negative assumptions are:
Educate the heart by engaging in zikir and reading Al-Qur'an; Always think positively of others; Keep oneself busy; Supplicate that Allah SWT protects our hearts from being easily influenced by the whispers of devil; Avoid social media that is filled with assumptions, rumours and false accusations. Instead, verify and investigate every news before spreading it.
