Teachers and educators are very important and responsible groups in delivering, teaching, enriching, and empowering students and society with knowledge and skills so that they become knowledgeable, successful, and morally upright individuals. The Friday sermon titled 'Teacher as Catalyst for Sustainable Education and Innovation' also touched on the qualities of the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam in educating his Ummah which teachers should emulate.
The Prophet taught his ummah with wisdom, patience and mercy. He never looked down on the ignorant, but educated them with love. The Prophet conveyed knowledge according to the level and ability of his companions. This is an effective educational method that should be emulated by teachers today. In this challenging world, educators must be resilient. Resilient means being able to rise again after being tested, continue to stand even when faced with pressure, and have strong moral values. So that makes the role of teachers even greater and more challenging, not only conveying academic knowledge, but also forming the souls of students who are worthy, have integrity, are enthusiastic and have noble character.
