Zulhijah is often known as the month for haj and Korban or the Rites of Sacrifice.
However, its special significance does not end there. In fact, the first ten days of Zulhijjah are among the most blessed days, filled with great virtues. How special are the first ten days of Zulhijah, until all acts of worship performed within those days are considered more virtuous than any other day. This was among the content of the Friday Sermon titled 'Making the Most of the Ten Days of Zulhijjah with Deeds Loved by Allah.'
Among the most important acts of worship to be increased throughout the ten days are increasing the number of Sunat prayers, as such prayers have its own special significance. It serves as a complement to any shortcomings that may occur during the five daily prayers. Next is fasting. Fasting on the Day of Arafah, which is on the 9th of Zulhijjah, is highly encouraged, especially for those who are not performing the haj. Another act of worship is increasing zikir. Zikir is not just a recitation, it is a fortress for the heart. With zikir, it calms the soul, control one's emotion, and guide Muslims to choose words and actions wisely.
