Syaaban is a significant month that has it's own unique virtues. Among the religious deeds performed during said month is making up for missed Ramadhan fasts. This was highlighted in the Friday Sermon titled 'The Obligation to Make Up for Missed Fasts.' The Friday sermon reminded that missed Ramadhan fasts must be made up while the person is still healthy and able before the arrival of Ramadhan.
Any Ramadhan fasts that are missed must be made up or (qada) or the same number of days that were missed. It is an obligation of making up the fasts that were missed either intentionally or due to a valid excuse. This is with the exception of those who are truly unable to perform said deed, such as a person who has no hope of recovery. Instead, they are obligated to pay the Fidyah as a substitute for the missed fasts.
