KOTA KINABALU (Dec 21): Parti Warisan information chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media claiming unrest and internal turmoil during the party’s recent annual general meeting (AGM), describing the claims as false, misleading and malicious.
In a statement today, Azis said he unequivocally refuted all assertions contained in the viral posts and visuals, stressing that they did not reflect what actually took place.
“I hereby categorically, clearly and without any doubt deny every allegation spread in the viral posts and visuals,” he said.
Addressing claims that a riot had occurred during the Warisan AGM, Azis said the allegation was untrue.
“The claim that there was unrest at the Warisan Annual General Meeting is not true. There was no riot as alleged. The programme proceeded in a controlled manner, and any portrayal suggesting major chaos is a distortion and completely unfounded,” he said.
Azis also dismissed allegations that the purported unrest stemmed from party members pressuring him to assume the presidency of Warisan, describing the claim as false and misleading.
“The claim that the alleged unrest was caused by members urging me to become president of Warisan is false and misleading. I have never incited, initiated or been involved in any such movement. This allegation was fabricated to create the perception of internal division,” he said.
He further denied claims that a prolonged debate about the party’s performance in the Sabah state election, particularly allegations suggesting criticism of party president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
“The claim that there was a lengthy debate because Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal failed in the Sabah election is not true. There was no such debate, let alone any personal assessment of the party president. This is a maliciously constructed narrative,” he said.
Azis also rejected claims that he had resigned from Warisan with immediate effect.
“The claim that I have left Warisan today is a clear slander. I have not left the party, made no such announcement, and remain committed to the party’s legitimate leadership and channels,” he said.
He stressed that the entire viral posting contained false information, elements of defamation and was intended to confuse the public.
“I view seriously these attempts to tarnish the party’s reputation and stability through irresponsible narratives,” he said.
Azis also advised the public not to believe or spread unverified information.
“I urge the public not to trust or share fake news,” he said.
