KOTA KINABALU (Dec 5): Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman expressed his sadness and extended his condolences to the family of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who passed away early today.
Musa said that throughout his lifetime, the Lamag assemblyman made significant contributions to Sabah, particularly in his roles as Deputy Chief Minister and Kinabatangan Member of Parliament.
“Over that long period, he contributed greatly to the state and the country through various proposals and recommendations while serving as a representative of the people.
“All the services he rendered will always be remembered by all levels of the people in Sabah,” he said in a post on Facebook today.
Musa added that the passing of the veteran political figure is a loss felt by all who appreciate the dedication and service Bung Moktar gave throughout his time in public office.
“May the memory of his immense contributions to Sabah and the country continue to inspire and be remembered by future generations,” he said.
Bung Moktar, 66, passed away at a private hospital here at 1.46am today, his son Naim Kurniawan Moktar confirmed.
His body is currently at the family home in Luyang and will be taken to the Sabah State Mosque for funeral prayers.
He will be laid to rest at the Kampung Likas Cemetery here after Friday prayers today. — Bernama
