KOTA KINABALU (Jan 2): The public is invited to join the Christmas Open House and 2026 New Year celebrations in Kadamaian, Tuaran, and Penampang.
The events will be officiated by Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick.
For Kadamaian, the celebration will take place on Jan 5 at the Kadamaian Square Taginambur Hall in Kota Belud.
Ewon, who is also the Kadamaian assemblyman, said the programme aims to strengthen ties between the community and leaders while providing information on government services.
“Agencies, departments and Sabah government-linked companies under the ministry’s portfolio will be holding service exhibitions in conjunction with this event to introduce their roles and initiatives to the people of Kadamaian,” he said.
The event will feature performances by invited artistes, including Rey Kimara, Felix Agus, S. Welly, Melinda Rise The Star, and Baby Camellia, runner-up of the State Upko Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan and KDCA Kota Belud champion.
Choral performances will be presented by the Taginambur Area SIB Women’s Association, SDA Rangalau, St Edmund Kota Belud, and SIB Piasau.
Ewon, who is Upko president, said Upko’s Christmas Open House and 2026 New Year Celebration in Tuaran will be held this Jan 4 at Dewan Seri Sulaman beginning at 1pm.
The event will be hosted by the Tuaran Upko Division under the leadership of Tuaran MP and Tamparuli assemblyman, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.
In addition, Ewon, who is Penampang MP together with Moyog assemblyman Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, will be hosting the Penampang Christmas and 2026 New Year Thanksgiving Celebration this Jan 3 at Dewan Tamu Desa Kg Ramayah starting at 10am.
