Annual Census of Employers & Employees, Wages, Earnings and Hours of Work for 2025

The Department of Labour, Ministry of Home Affairs, will conduct the Annual Census of Employers and Employees, Wages, Earnings and Hours of Work for 2025 for a period of one month from 31st October to 30th November.

 

All Business Entities, Private Institutions, Cooperatives, Associations, Clubs and Statutory Bodies in the Private Sector operating in Brunei Darussalam, except for Domestic / Private Services, are requested to provide and complete information on workers, including employers / owners / managers who are still employed with the respective Business Entities, Private Institutions, Cooperatives, Associations, Clubs and Statutory Bodies until 30th October by visiting the website listed. Users are required to use a registered e-Darussalam account. The Census completion guidelines can be downloaded from the same link or via the official Labour Department website.

 

Employers / owners / managers are advised to personally complete the census information for their respective Business Entities, Private Institutions, Cooperatives, Associations, Clubs and Statutory Bodies in order to prevent the risk of misuse of the confidential census information by third parties. The receipt issued for Employer & Employee Census 2024 will expire and become invalid after 30th October 2025.

 

Under the provisions of Employment Information Act 1974, Chapter 99, Section 3 (1), all employers are required to complete the Annual Census of Employers' & Employees' Wages, Earnings and Hours of Work forms. According to Section 8 (1) of the Act, any employer who wilfully refuses or neglects to furnish the required particulars or information within the allowed time, or fails to provide it in the specified or prescribed form, or does not authenticate it as required; or wilfully provides or causes to be provided false information in response to any matter specified in the notice; or wilfully provides false answers to any necessary questions for obtaining the required information, is committing an offence and is liable to a fine of $2,500 and six months imprisonment. And for continuous offences, a further fine of Fifty Brunei Dollars per day will be imposed.
