The Language and Literature Bureau through the Library Division held the Launching of the National Reading Strategy, 23rd April afternoon. Held at the Atrium, Setia Point, the event in conjunction with World Book Day aims to support the government's desire to build a society that is knowledgeable, information-literate and has a reading culture.
The launching was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event included the presentation of a keynote speech titled Cultivating “Distraction-Resistant Readers": Our Weapons Against the Digital Tsunami and the presentation of prizes for several categories.
Earlier in the morning, two talk sessions were held titled "Reading Together, Educating Together: An Integrated Synergism" and "The Effects of Excessive Screen Time and Parental Strategies to Control Its Use".
