The cooperative relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China is deepened through exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, deep cultural integration, friendship and harmony between the two countries. Speaking during the Opening Ceremony of the Picturesque Zhejiang (Brunei) Thematic Special Exhibition, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam shared that the cooperation under the Global Civilization Initiative makes new and greater contributions to the communities of both countries by sharing the future. Held in conjunction with the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, the launching ceremony took place at An-Naura Hall, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, 22nd April night.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. His Excellency Chen Shaochun, in his speech also emphasised that the Hengyi Pulau Muara Besar Refinery and Petrochemical Plant Project is a flagship project of the China-Brunei Belt and Road cooperation, making significant contributions to Brunei's economic diversification. With the theme “Tides Rising In The East", the exhibition, among other things, provides visitors with the opportunity to witness the diverse art forms and maritime cultural heritage of Zhejiang, including paintings and handicrafts.
