'Operasi Kakas' continues to be actively carried out by the Department of Immigration and National Registration to curb immigration offenders in the country. Involving officers from the Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait Law Enforcement Divisions, this time the operation targeted several public locations in Mukim Kianggeh.
From the operation, 6 out of 342 foreign nationals checked were apprehended and taken to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. Two individuals were apprehended for overstaying in the country after their work passes had expired. While 4 others were apprehended for failing to produce valid documents.
The Department of Immigration and National Registration welcomes the public's cooperation in sharing information on immigration offenders by contacting 873 4888 or 875 3888 for Bandar Seri Begawan, and 898 4111 for Kuala Belait.
