The operation dubbed as 'Operasi Kakas' JIPK 2026 continue to be carried out by the Department of Immigration and National Registration to curb immigration offenders in the country. Two law enforcement operations were carried out targeting several rental houses in Mukim Sengkurong and rental rooms in Mukim Kilanas.
During 'Operasi Kakas' at rental houses in Mukim Sengkurong, three foreigners were apprehended and brought to the Law Enforcement Section for further investigation. They failed to produce valid documents and have been overstaying in the country after their immigration passes expired.
In another operation targeting rental rooms in Mukim Kilanas, two foreigners were apprehended and brought to the Law Enforcement Section for further investigation. They were found to have committed several offences including overstaying in the country after their immigration passes have expired, Misuse of Employment Pass and protecting individuals who have committed offences under the Immigration Act or Regulations.
Meanwhile, two foreigners were sentenced to imprisonment for overstaying in the country after their immigration passes have expired. Diana, an Indonesian was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, while Md Tuhin Hauladar, a Bangladeshi, was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping.
