As additional security and safety measures, the areas within an 8 kilometre radius from the Brunei International Airport has been declared as restricted airspace on the 31st of May, and the 1st of June 2026.
The Department of Civil Aviation in the press release explained that under the declaration, unauthorized aircraft, including drones are NOT ALLOWED to operate in that airspace. Failure to comply with this regulation is considered a contravention of the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam, as outlined in Section 50 of the Civil Aviation Act.
