‘Life’s tests measured by faithful responses, not challenges faced’

Every individual faces different tests according to their own abilities and the true measure of a person lies not in the nature of the challenges they encounter, but in how they respond with faith, patience and obedience to Allah the Almighty, was among the key messages highlighted in a panel forum during the 25th edition of the ‘Ilm Series at the Conference Hall of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in Pulaie.

The speakers also encouraged participants never to despair of Allah the Almighty’s mercy, but instead to continually strive for self-improvement through sincere repentance, regular supplication, resisting worldly temptations, identifying the causes of sinful behaviour, building positive support networks, and seeking guidance from appropriate individuals and platforms.

The panel forum featured Special Duties Officer Grade 2 at the Counselling and Religious Understanding Unit, Syariah Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Muhd Yussof bin Haji Abd Majid and Acting Associate Specialist at the Child Development Centre, Ministry of Health Dr Diana Tahir.

The programme continued with an interactive workshop conducted by Youth Da’ie committee members and facilitators through four themed booths focusing on self-reflection, Tadabbur Al-Quran, developing a personal transformation plan and strengthening istiqamah (steadfastness). It provided participants with the opportunity to reflect on the lessons shared during the forum, engage in self-assessment and formulate personal commitments towards meaningful and lasting positive change.

Organised by the Belia Da’ie Volunteer Body with the support of the Youth Religious Programme Secretariat of the PDI, the programme aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Islam, strengthen their character and encourage them to remain steadfast in practising Islamic teachings, while nurturing a knowledgeable, morally upright and resilient society capable of facing contemporary challenges. – Lyna Mohamad
