Haj fare grant applications open; registration begins for National Maulidur Rasul celebration

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through the Department of Haj Affairs, has opened applications for the Haj Fare Grant for the 1448 Hijrah/2027 Haj pilgrimage for eligible serving and retired government officers and employees.

Applications opened on July 20 and must be submitted through applicants’ respective heads of department to the Department of Haj Affairs no later than September 19.

Application forms are available during office hours, from 8.30am to 11.30am and 2pm to 3.30pm, at the Department of Haj Affairs on the second floor of the Additional Building of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jalan Dewan Majlis, as well as at the Religious Affairs Offices in Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts.

Forms can also be downloaded from the Department of Haj Affairs’ official website.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced that the National-Level Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1448 Hijrah will be held simultaneously in all four districts on August 25, beginning at 7am.

The National-Level Islamic Celebrations Executive Committee has invited government agencies, educational institutions, organisations and members of the public to take part in the annual event.

In Brunei-Muara District, participation is open under five categories: non-numbered contingents; ministries; higher learning institutions, colleges, Arabic, secondary and private schools; villages and mosques; as well as associations and private sector organisations.

Registration forms for participants in Brunei-Muara are available from the Secretariat of the National Maulidur Rasul Celebration at the Islamic Da’wah Development Division, Level 2, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jalan Dewan Majlis.

Completed forms may be submitted in person, by fax or via email. Participants from Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts may obtain and submit their registration forms through their respective District Religious Affairs Offices.

Registration forms are also available on the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ official website. The closing date for registration is 4pm on August 15.

The annual celebration commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and brings together participants from across the country in a spirit of unity, devotion and appreciation of Islamic values.
