A report on the drug situation in Brunei Darussalam and efforts to address drug abuse issues were among those shared by representatives of the Legislative Council during the 9th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Advisory Council Meeting on Dangerous Drugs (AIPA-CODD) held online.
The country's delegation comprised Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman and Yang Berhormat Dayang Hajah Safiah binti Sheikh Haji Abdul Salam, Members of the Legislative Council. The meeting also exchanged views and discussed best practices regarding challenges in the region. The meeting then considered the draft resolution that had been agreed to be presented during the 47th AIPA General Assembly. With the theme "Strengthening ASEAN Parliamentary Cooperation to Respond to the Convergence of Drug Trafficking and Related Crimes", the Meeting was organised by the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines.
