Brunei-owned Adinin Group of Companies (AGC) has expanded into Indonesia’s specialised aviation industry with the opening of Adinin Visi Aerotec in Jakarta on August 18.
The venture marks the company’s entry into the regional aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector and forms part of its wider international expansion.
Brunei Darussalam Ambassador to Indonesia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir was among those present at the opening ceremony.
Established in collaboration with an Indonesian company, Adinin Visi Aerotec will provide AGC with experience in an industry governed by stringent technical, safety and quality requirements.
Its operations will expose the company to aircraft engineering, technical maintenance, quality assurance, aviation safety, spare-parts management and compliance with international aviation standards.
The venture is also expected to help the company develop industry expertise and regional networks, while opening avenues for Bruneians to pursue industrial training, professional certification and careers in the specialised field.
Knowledge and experience gained through the Indonesian operation could, in the longer term, support efforts to develop MRO capabilities in Brunei Darussalam.
Such development could create skilled employment and business opportunities in areas including logistics, aircraft-parts supply, technical training, digital technology and other aviation support services.
The company said its longer-term aspiration is to bring the expertise gained overseas back to Brunei and contribute to the development of the country’s aviation ecosystem.
The expansion also demonstrates how Bruneian businesses can enter regional markets and participate in specialised, high-value industries beyond their traditional sectors.
