Five categories set for this year’s Maulud Nabi procession

This year’s National-Level Gathering and Procession in conjunction with the Maulud Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Celebration for 1448 Hijrah will be divided into five categories, namely the main contingent, ministries; secondary schools and higher education institutions; primary schools, religious and Arabic preparatory schools; and villages and mosques, associations and the private sector.

In preparation for the celebration, a briefing and meeting with team leaders was held Tuesday morning at Multaqa Hall, Ground Floor, Darul Hikmah Building, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jalan Dewan Majlis, Berakas.

The meeting was chaired by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, who is also Chairman of the Working Committee for the celebration. 

Agencies that also provided briefings included the Department of State Ceremonial and Protocol; Royal Brunei Police Force, Prime Minister’s Office; Department of Health and Medical Services, Ministry of Health; Department of Administration and Services, Ministry of Education; Department of Administration Ministry of Religious Affairs; Buildings and Maintenance Division, Ministry of Religious Affairs; as well as the Secretariat.

Through the briefings, representatives of the team leaders were given the opportunity to take note of various matters, including procedures, regulations and preparations required to ensure that this year’s gathering and procession are conducted smoothly, orderly and successfully, in line with the objectives of the celebration.

The celebration will be held simultaneously nationwide on 12 Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 25, 2026, starting at 7am. This year’s celebration is themed ‘Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah’.

Similar with previous years, the main national-level celebration will be held at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan, which will serve as the main venue for the gathering and procession.
