Residents and visitors were treated to an evening of nostalgic melodies during a musical performance held in conjunction with the 80th Birthday Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The event, held on Wednesday evening at the nightly stage at Tudong Saji, Kuala Belait, featured classic songs from past decades performed by local band Kugiran D’Januari.
Organised by the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Panaga A, the musical showcase attracted visitors of all ages, who enjoyed a selection of familiar tunes from the yesteryears.
The performance was part of ongoing celebrations held nationwide to commemorate His Majesty’s 80th birthday.
Attending as guest of honour was Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampung Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann.
He was accompanied by Penghulus and village heads from across the Belait District.
