In enhancing public knowledge and understanding of the rites and practices of haj and umrah, as well as provide early preparation for prospective pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Haj Affairs Department, will conduct the Basic Haj and Umrah Course 1448 Hijrah/2026 in six sessions every Sunday, from September 13 to October 18, 2026.
The Haj Affairs Department is inviting members of the public, applicants on the waiting list and selected pilgrims for the 1448 Hijrah/2027 Haj season to attend the course at the designated locations.
The course will be conducted from 8am to 10am at seven selected mosques across the four districts. For the Brunei Muara district the courses will take place on September 13, 20 and 27 and October 4.
It will be conducted at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque, Kampong Serusop and to be facilitated by Haji Ahmad Muzhafar bin Haji Marsidi; at Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque, Kampong Sengkurong to be facilitated by Haji Abdul Mu’iz bin Haji Amat; at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Jalan ‘B’, Kampong Mentiri to be facilitated by Haji Fansuri Sharimi @ Haji Mansur bin Haji Mohammad Ali and the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque, Kampong Rimba to be facilitated by Pengiran Haji Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar.
For Tutong District, it will be facilitated by Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustafa at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Tutong Town on October 11 and 18, 2026 with the same dates for Belait and Temburong districts.
In the Belait District, it will be conducted at Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Belait District with facilitator Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Mat Daud and Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque, Bangar Town for Temburong District to be facilitated by Haji Rozaiman bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
