Brunei Sustainable Economy Forum 2026

 

 


Brunei Darussalam reaffirmed its commitment to advancing a sustainable and diversified economy as policymakers, industry leaders and partners gathered at the Brunei Sustainable Economy Forum 2026. Held at a hotel in Berakas, 5th may afternoon, the forum was organised under the Brunei Economy Programme by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei with the support of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, with the theme “Unlocking Green Growth: Industry, Finance and Digital Innovation."

 

In his keynote address, Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy, emphasised the importance of translating strategies into tangible outcomes, particularly by accelerating implementation, unlocking investment and strengthening partnerships across sectors.

 

Also addressing the forum, Her Excellency Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, ESCAP, who highlighted the region's growing momentum in green investment and the opportunities for countries like Brunei to position themselves within emerging regional value chains.

The forum featured two key sessions focusing on enabling Brunei's green economy and industry perspectives.
