Faith, patience key to overcoming emotional strain » Borneo Bulletin Online
The importance of turning to Allah the Almighty during times of emotional and spiritual strain was highlighted by trained religious teacher with the Dakwah Dissemination (Counselling) Division of the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs Siti Noraini binti Haji Mohd Hashim.
She shared this as the invited speaker, delivering a talk ‘Saat Hati Lelah, Kembalilah Kepada Allah’, during a special women’s gathering held as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong.
The talk focused on the concepts of patience, acceptance and reliance on Allah the Almighty as key remedies in overcoming emotional burnout and the pressures of life.
It also emphasised the importance of strengthening one’s reliance on Allah the Almighty by making prayer, Al-Quran, zikir and supplication a stronghold when facing various trials and challenges.
As servants of Allah the Almighty, Muslims were encouraged to change their perception of trials by understanding the wisdom behind every sadness and challenge, and viewing them as a manifestation of Allah the Almighty’s love in elevating the status of His servants.
The talk also highlighted the importance of managing and addressing emotions and mental well-being in accordance with Islamic teachings and guidance.
Held at the mosque’s main prayer hall, the event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by spouse of the Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Norazimah binti Haji Mohd Ramlee, the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, Muslimah Affairs Supervisor of the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Takmir Committee Haziqah Najwa binti Haji Ibrahim recited a Doa.
The event concluded with chair-person of the event Hajah Zainun binti Haji Md Daud presenting tokens of appreciation to the invited speaker and guest of honour.
