His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, has stressed the importance of establishing a clear path for Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (Brunei LNG) and Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) to realise their full potential and sustain long-term competitiveness.
His Majesty made the observation in an opening titah on Wednesday while chairing the 231st Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG and the 117th Board of Directors Meeting of BGC for the Third Quarter of 2026 at the Prime Minister’s Office building.
His Majesty also highlighted the need for clear priorities and strategic choices to support the companies’ long-term performance and competitiveness amid an evolving business and energy landscape.
The meetings discussed operational and financial performance, safety and operational reliability, workforce development and business planning.
His Majesty recognised the encouraging achievements of the Brunei Shell Joint Venture companies to date, as well as their continued efforts towards improvement.
The monarch also underscored the importance of effective alignment and collaboration across the Brunei Shell Joint Venture companies.
The discussions further focused on strengthening the performance and competitiveness of Brunei LNG and BGC while developing the capabilities needed to deliver sustainable value.
The meetings were attended by shareholder directors representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Shell plc and Mitsubishi Corporation, alongside members of the Brunei LNG and BGC management teams.
His Majesty will chair the 420th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the 198th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) for the Third Quarter of 2026 on Thursday.
