Two-hundred Year 9 and Year 10 students from Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College, along with 23 teachers, partook in the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum on October 3.
The ceremony was held in remembrance of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, while also marking the 75th anniversary of the college’s establishment. The school’s Deputy Principal (Academic) Mohd Zulhisham Shah bin Haji Napiah and teaching staff were also present.
The gathering at the Royal Mausoleum provided an opportunity for students and teachers to reflect on Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam’s contributions to the development of education, while commemorating the institution’s longstanding role in the country’s educational history.
