Brunei’s best-known radio broadcaster makes its case as a full-spectrum media house, hosting the Sultanate’s business community over two days at Mutiara Exchange

For over 25 years, KRISTAL Media has been a voice Bruneians wake up to. This week, the company best known for KRISTALfm is telling the country’s businesses that radio was only ever the beginning.

On October 5 and 6, 2026, KRISTAL Media hosts the first edition of KRISTAL Sessions, an invitation-only gathering at Level 12, Mutiara Exchange, bringing together leaders from government, government-linked companies, banks and smaller enterprises. Across three sessions, each shaped for a different part of Brunei’s business community, the company is opening its doors to show what a modern media house can do for a brand – on air, on screen, on the feed and on the ground.

“People know us for the radio, and we’re proud of that,” said General Manager of KRISTAL Media Jenny Malai Ali. “But the KRISTAL of today makes video that travels, social content people actually share, podcasts, live events and more. KRISTAL Sessions is our way of showing Brunei the full picture, in person.”

The move comes at a time when attention has become the hardest thing for any brand to win.

KRISTAL Media’s argument is that reach alone is no longer enough – that the brands cutting through are the ones making content people genuinely want to watch, rather than advertising people scroll past. That thinking has produced results the company is keen to share. One recent client campaign drew more than 10 times the views of a conventional branded video made the same week, by the same team. The difference, KRISTAL says, was the idea, not the budget.

“We’ve stopped thinking of ourselves as a place you buy airtime,” said Head of Content and Marketing at KRISTAL Media
Dinny Gapar. “We’re in the business of attention. Whether that’s a thirty-second radio spot, a reel that reaches a hundred thousand people, or a brand’s name on a live event – our job is to make Brunei stop, look and listen.”

KRISTAL Sessions runs across two days, with dedicated sessions for large corporations and government-linked companies, for government ministries and departments, and for small and medium enterprises.
