Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) Norazrina binti Haji Sarbini in her welcoming remarks shared, “Initially, the Peace Day Celebration 2026 was planned with the walk for peace activity, however, due to the haze situation that has impacted Brunei Darussalam, the association replaced the activity with a speech competition.”
She added, “Through the speech competition, members will gain a deeper understanding that peace is not only something to be valued, but also a responsibility to be practised and promoted through their actions and daily lives as members of the PPPBD.
“For the competition, participants were given the theme of the International Day of Peace, ‘Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day’ as the topic.”
