‘Fresh talent, innovative ideas will lead to growth’

The Wushu Association Negara Brunei Darussalam held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of the Management Committee for the 2027-2030 term yesterday with association president Lim Boon Hwa, reflecting on his 24 years of service to the development of Wushu in Brunei Darussalam.

He said the achievements reflected the collective efforts of everyone involved and stressed that the continued growth of the organisation depended on fresh talent and innovative ideas.

He also announced his decision not to seek re-election as president. Lim said he had been involved in building and developing the federation since its establishment in 2003.

Having served two four-year terms as president, he described his 24-year journey with the association as an honour and privilege. He highlighted the collective achievements in bringing Brunei Wushu onto the international stage and supporting athletes in attaining excellence and bringing honour to the country.

He urged committee members, coaches, athletes, parents and others to remain united and extend their full support to the incoming Management Committee for the 2027-2030 term.

Lim expressed confidence that the new leadership would take the association to greater heights and build on the progress achieved over the years.

The meeting also saw the confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting, as well as the presentation of the secretarial, financial and Wushu district branches’ reports.
