The Brunei Darussalam Phase of the Sultan’s Scholars Development Programme 2026 was held from July 28, 2026 to August 1, 2026. The programme included briefings and presentations by government agencies to provide participants with a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of these agencies, as well as related issues and challenges.

The Brunei Darussalam phase began with a two-day, one-night teambuilding programme at Freme Rainforest Lodge in the Temburong District. Participants also joined community engagement activities with SMARTER Brunei Darussalam.

The Singapore Phase was conducted in collaboration with the High Commission of Singapore in Brunei Darussalam and the Civil Service College (CSC), Singapore.

The programme was held from August 3 to 7, 2026. The Singapore programme provided participants with exposure to Singapore’s approaches in four key areas: policy-making; leadership and communication; sustainable development; and digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

The programme featured dialogues, courses, workshops, study visits, and community activities. Participants also visited the headquarters of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) and Masjid Muhajirin, which is part of Singapore’s Islamic Hub.

These visits provided participants with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the role of MUIS, as well as the initiatives undertaken by the management of Masjid Muhajirin for the benefit of the local Muslim community.

During their time in Singapore, participants also attended a networking lunch with senior officials from Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, the CSC organised a networking lunch with President’s Scholars and Public Service Commission Scholars from Singapore. The closing ceremony for the Singapore programme was held on August 6, 2026, with certificates of participation presented by Civil Service College International Deputy Director Lena Leong.
